Chiado Heritage: A Timeless Legacy Revitalized

Honoring the Soul of Lisbon This project was far more than a technical renovation; it was a deeply personal mission to honor a family’s history within the walls of a home that had belonged to their parents for decades. Nestled in the historic heart of Chiado, the apartment serves as a bridge between generations. Our primary objective was to protect the “Spirit of Lisbon” that resided in the architecture—painstakingly restoring the original 19th-century ornate stucco ceilings and elaborate plaster cornices to their former glory. Every French balcony and high-volume space was preserved to ensure the cultural character of the family’s heritage remained the heart of the home.

Architecture of Permanence To complement this historical soul, NovoStruct introduced a sophisticated, modern design language built on the philosophy of “Above Standard” quality. We selected a palette of noble materials designed to age gracefully and endure for a lifetime. This includes rich European walnut cabinetry that flows from the kitchen to the master sanctuary, and monolithic Calacatta marble surfaces that provide a sense of grounded luxury. The premium European oak herringbone parquet flooring was installed with surgical precision, serving as a durable foundation that transcends passing trends.

Engineering Excellence for Generations Understanding that this home is intended to stay in the family for many years to come, we prioritized structural integrity and long-term durability over shortcuts. From the hand-applied lime plaster walls to the seamless integration of modern utility systems and concealed cabinetry, every detail was engineered to minimize maintenance and maximize resilience. By blending Lisbon’s traditional craftsmanship with contemporary engineering, we have created a sanctuary that respects the parents’ legacy while offering a world-class living experience for the future.
